Rix Petroleum and Envirostore are fuelling the future of Driffield Agricultural Society by donating a 1300 litre gas oil tank from Envirostore worth nearly £1,000.
The move means Driffield Agricultural Society can store fuel in bulk and will no longer have to pay forecourt prices, saving them a huge amount from their annual fuel bill.
We handed the tank over at Driffield Show – the society’s flagship annual event – and our Heating Services division will fit the tank in the next few weeks.
David Tite, Chief Executive of Driffield Agricultural Society, said he was overwhelmed by the generosity of both companies.
He said: “We wanted to get a fuel storage tank for a while because we know we could make significant savings on our annual fuel bill by buying diesel in bulk and storing it, but when we priced it up we decided it was too expensive.
“But Rix said they would look into what they could do regarding the price and went away to speak to their supplier, Envirostore. They came back to us saying they would fund it between them.
“It was a great surprise and extremely kind of both of them. I was absolutely delighted by their decision, it will really make a big difference to the society.”
Duncan Lambert, Director of Rix Petroleum, said they pleased to support Driffield Agricultural Society, which do such fantastic work organising events line the Driffield Show.
Mr Lambert said: “We have exhibited at the Driffield Show for 69 successive years and we always look forward to it, every year. It is an opportunity to meet up with old friends and make new ones. There’s no place like it.
“The society does such excellent work organising and managing it each year and credit really must go to them. We can’t see a time when Rix won’t exhibit there so we’re delighted to be able to support Driffield Agricultural Society with this donation.”
Richard Marsh of Envirostore added: “The tank we have provided will be perfect for Driffield Agricultural Society both in terms of volume and ease of use. We were pleased to join Rix in helping to keep the society fully fuelled and ensure they never run out of gas.”
