North Yorkshire resident wins free heating oil thanks to Rix Petroleum

Mrs Sterriker took delivery of 500 litres of heating oil, after winning a competition run in the local newspaper.

With the chill of winter still clinging on for a frosty spring, Mrs Sterriker said she was delighted to receive delivery of the prize this week, but hadn’t expected to win.

She said: “I occasionally enter competitions when I see them and so when I saw this one I thought I would give it a go, it looked interesting, but I didn’t suppose that I would win. So when I got the phone call to say I had I was so shocked. My family and friends were amazed when I told them too. I was very pleased.

“The day after the fuel was delivered we had a lot of frost, so it came just at the right time. We certainly haven’t seen the back of winter yet and I think we’ll have the heating on for a few weeks yet, so it has really helped with our fuel bills.”

“The delivery driver was excellent,” she said. “He was friendly and the service was great so we will certainly think about using them next time we need heating oil.”
